For centuries, people have looked to the night sky for direction. Among the most recognizable constellations is Ursa Major, the Great Bear. Within it sits the Big Dipper, whose two outer stars point almost directly toward Polaris—the North Star.
Polaris did not tell travelers where they should go. It gave them something more useful: a fixed point by which they could understand where they were and choose their own course.
Ursa takes its name from that tradition.
We believe everyone has their own North Star: the people, pursuits, values, and responsibilities that matter most to them. The challenge is not always knowing what matters. More often, it is protecting enough time and attention to follow it.
We do not want to become the center of anyone’s life. We want to make tools that help people spend less time distracted, uncertain, or going through the motions—and more time moving deliberately toward what matters to them.
In golf, that means practicing with purpose instead of simply hitting more balls. It means using limited time well, building confidence through preparation, and then leaving practice behind to enjoy the game.
Beyond golf, the principle remains the same.
Ursa is not the destination. It is a reference point.
A reminder to look up, find your direction, and follow your North Star.
Our Values
Make the time count.
Golf asks a lot of our time. For most of us, that time competes with work, family, and everything else that matters. A practice session might be an hour before work. A round might be the only quiet afternoon of the week. The goal is not to spend more time thinking about golf. It is to make the time we already have more intentional.
That is why we started Ursa.
Ursa Golf creates thoughtful tools, apparel, and accessories for golfers who want to practice with purpose, improve over time, and enjoy the game without unnecessary complexity.
Practice intentionally. Play fearlessly.
Built for the golfer with a life outside golf.
We love the game, but we do not believe it should consume everything around it. Ursa is designed for golfers balancing the course with careers, families, responsibilities, and other interests. People who may not have hours every day to practice, but still care deeply about getting better.
That constraint shapes what we make.E very product should earn its place in your life.
Fewer things. Better considered.
There are already plenty of golf products. We are not interested in adding more simply for the sake of having a larger catalog. We would rather make fewer products and spend more time considering why they should exist, how they should work, what materials they should use, and what could be removed. We believe good design is often less about what you add than what you are willing to leave out.
Our approach is simple:
1. Make the useful part better.
2. Remove what does not need to be there.
3. Choose materials and construction that can withstand real use.
4. Listen and improve.
Trust over attention.
Ursa should earn your trust without demanding more of your attention. We are not interested in artificial urgency, endless promotions, or designing products simply to keep people engaged.
The measure of a good product is not how often you think about Ursa. It is whether the product helps you spend your time better.
On the practice green. On the course. And away from both.
Play the long game.
Golf rewards patience. So does building a company.
We are building Ursa slowly, learning from the people who use what we make, and trying to make each version a little more useful than the one before it.
There will be new products, experiments, mistakes, and revisions along the way. But the direction will remain the same:
Create intentional tools that deserve to endure.
And help golfers step onto the course with a little more confidence than they had before.
Practice intentionally. Play fearlessly.
